CERAMIC GLASS PLATEN
One piece of Ceramic Platen liner. Our standard size is 3/16" x 1" x 2 1/2 up to 3/6" x 2" x 12". The 1" wide fits most 1" x 30" belt Sander / Grinders. The 2" wide fits most 2" x 72" belt Sanders and 2" x 42" Grinders may take a similar size. However, we will custom cut a glass platen for any size grinder. IMPORTANT: CAREFULLY MEASURE. INCLUDE THE SAFETY SHELF IN YOUR
MEASUREMENTS. Example:
If your metal platen is 10" long and your safety shelf is 3/4", then
your ceramic glass platen should be no longer than 9 1/4". We can cut
any size you need. Just let us know on the contact page.
We also carry a standard size for 1" x 30" belt sanders such as Harbor Freight and Grizzly. This measures 1" x 2 1/2" and various sizes. We can also custom cut any length of 1" glass for other types of grinders.
This is Neo-Ceram or Pyro-Ceram. A ceramic fireplace glass.
Neo-Ceram is modern material for our age. It is designed for thermal shock resistance and stability against high temperatures. Withstands continuous temperatures to 1292 degrees F. Nearly three times that of tempered glass.
Provides a smoother, longer lasting platen.
Mount this to your belt sander platen using J B Weld or 2 pieces of double sided high strength tape. There are several excellent You Tube videos (glass platen) for mounting instructions. HINT: If you use double sided tape, the platen can be carefully removed with acetone. Soak from the top and carefully pry with a putty knife until tape releases. This is especially useful if one side of platen is chipped. It can be reversed.
A small steel shelf installed to support your glass platen is a
must. These instructions are also included in the You Tube videos.
NOTE: MEASURE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU ORDER. BE SURE TO INCLUDE IN YOUR MEASUREMENT THE EXTRA 3/4" NEEDED FOR THE a 2" SAFETY SHELF or 1/2" NEEDED FOR THE 1" SAFETY SHELF.
